Many babies are abandoned by parents who avoid their responsibilities. It could be have really serious problems, but it is irresponsible behavior. In addition, some parents abandon the babies outside. It is cruel behavior. We should not ignore this problem. There are three solutions: controlling illegal abandonment, allowing abortion legally, and educating people to use contraception. Controlling illegal abandonment is a good way to prevent babies from being abandoned. The police should catch and punish the parents who abandon their babies. Because it is the same as murder. So it has to be strictly controlled. However, it’s hard to find and catch the parents because they abandon babies secretly. Therefore, the government should set cameras that track everything everywhere, and warn people that if they abandon their babies, they will be punished intensely. Allowing abortion legally can prevent babies from being abandoned. There are some countries in which abortion is illegal. So the women who want abortion decide to do dangerous illegal abortion or abandon the babies. So the government should allow abortion. Nevertheless, some people will disagree if the government allows abortion. In this case, the government should persuade women to make their own decisions about their bodies. Education people to use contraception is the best way to prevent babies from being abandoned. Many people don’t know how important contraception is. So the government should educate people to do contraception to prevent unwanted babies. However, some people ignore or don’t believe this kind of education. Thus, the government should educate people since they are children. In conclusion, we can try some solutions to prevent babies from being abandoned even though it is not easy. The government should set cameras that track everything, and warn people to control illegal abandonment. And the government should allow abortion legally and persuade people who disagree of abortion. Also, the government should educate people since they are children to learn how important contraception is.

Response to: Foul Shots In Foul Shots, Rogelio R. Gomez writes about his Chicano background and the neighborhood he grew up in. Furthermore, he describes himself being stereotyped as one of the â€Å"barrio boys† basically meaning that he is considered inferior to the Anglos. In high school, the writer states that he was on a basketball team and that there was one day when his coach announced that his team was to â€Å"buddy up† with the opposite team. The opposite team was all White and therefore had a big conflict with the â€Å"barrio boys† due to racism. One of the Anglos threw a bag of Fritos to the â€Å"barrio boys† as an insult because of the â€Å"Frito Bandito† commercial which was, at its time, very popular and involved a stereotyped â€Å"Mexican bandit† from the Western movies who would steal Fritos. Gomez states in his essay that this insult still persists in his mind after â€Å"more than 20 years† have passed because he still wonders what he should have done in the situation and always comes to a though in where he is crushing â€Å"a silly bag of Fritos. The title seems to go well with the whole theme of this essay and has two meanings on being that since they are on a basketball team and a â€Å"foul† in basketball is an illegal move and also using the meaning of the word â€Å"foul† as unfair; they are being compared in a sense. The Anglos in the essay are very stereotypical due to the fact that they threw a bag of Fritos at the â€Å"barrio boys† and treated them very rudely; they basically thought of them as â€Å"inferior† as stated in by the author. Something that can also be said in this situation; however, is that the stereotypical thoughts could be turned towards the Anglos implying that the Mexican-Americans discriminate towards them too. The reason why is because, in the essay, it says that the â€Å"barrio boys† tried to act like they were superior because of their â€Å"toughness† and how they played basketball much better than the Anglos, beating them at every game. This whole problem could have probably been prevented if the coaches took a different approach towards the conflicts between the two teams. Rather than having the two teams get together, which obviously magnified the problem, the coach should have talked to the students about the different ethnic backgrounds and how to deal with racism and stereotypes. Analysis of Burger King's "Seven Incher" Hamburger Advertisement Two young teenage boys are dropped off at the mall and their parents run some errands. Armed with ten bucks each and some time to kill, the boys begin to roam the halls looking for anything they can spend their money on. While walking near the food court they catch a whiff of many different traditional foods, but what they see really catches their eye. On a banner near Burger King stands an advertisement of a wide-eyed young girl with her mouth open facing a BK (Burger King) â€Å"Seven Incher† hamburger. The text around the photo reads, â€Å"It’ll blow your mind away† in all caps. Hormones racing, the two boys know what the bulk of their money will be spent on. Companies who create advertisements for products that are essentially â€Å"a dime a dozen† will seek to publish something that sticks out. Was this method the best possible way to do so? Or might it create more problems than good for Burger King? I’m going to make the argument that BK uses sex in advertisements to target their younger male audience, rather than specifically using their products. I will do this by evaluating Burger King’s target audience, their history of advertisements, and the slogans and pictures incorporated in their messages. Method Target audience is defined as â€Å"a specific group within a larger audience†. Target audiences are used in marketing by companies who want to reach a specific demographic of people and also share specific demographic traits. Slogans are â€Å"a brief attention-getting phrase used in advertising or promotion† (Merriam Webster, 2015, 2). Companies use these to make an advertisement connect with their target audience. Analysis Burger King’s target audience when these advertisements were run was a younger male-focused group (Morrison, 2012, 1). More recently Burger King has branched out and developed newer, healthier options for their menu. However, the stereotypical â€Å"manly meat† menu that they previously sported appealed directly to their target audience. The â€Å"seven-inch burger† advertisement ran with the skinny model covered in makeup, mouth open and eyes wide, facing the burger while the written message read, â€Å"It’ll blow your mind away†. Another advertisement BK ran was the legs of a woman from the knee down, while she only wears red high heels and a Burger King crown around her ankles. Clearly, this gives the illusion that she would be wearing little but the â€Å"crown† and once again points directly to the sexual nature and overall target audience of the brand. Combine the audience with the suggestive sexual messages, and Burger King all of a sudden not selling value meals and sides but rather sexual innuendos directly aimed at their male-dominant young audience. Burger King has a history of running advertisements that have been edgy and sexually suggestive over the last 20 years. Since Burger King has a product and product line that is duplicated by many (that being the fast food and hamburger industry), they are essentially not advertising just their product and prices but instead a snapshot of what they offer combined with sex. In the advertisement with the woman wearing the BK crown around her ankles, her shoes are a dark shade of red. Red is the â€Å"most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing† (Johnson, 2015, 5). The color red also â€Å"exudes a strong and powerful masculine energy† while â€Å"stimulating deeper and more intimate passions in us, such as love and sex† (Scott-Kemmis, 2015, 6). It simply was not just by chance that BK chose to place red shoes on a model with a suggestive notation attached to it, but instead a carefully constructed message aimed to maximize their p rofits for their audience. The written slogans in each individual message, while it has something to do with the products they offer, arguably has just as much to do with sexual suggestions. â€Å"It’ll blow your mind away† is a message constructed about sex, with the product in mind. â€Å"Irresistibly long beefy† is another slogan by Burger King that possesses that same double standard of fitting the product and sex. Because this message is written in all capital letters, the advertisement gives the vibe that the message is masculine and not afraid to hide the double meaning. In the advertisement that solely has the woman’s legs with the BK crown around her ankles, there are no words that appear on the publication except for a small picture of a new product they are introducing. Because there are not any words tying the picture to any specific product, it seems to be an obvious example of thinking sex first, then their overall brand. Knowing that their audience is young and male dominated, this advertisement tactic may be the best possible solution, even though morally it may seem unethical or wrong. While it may be true that sex does sell, perhaps the reason why they had to incorporate other products and target a new audience was because the food industry was not the best place to sport that idea. There is clearly no doubt that these advertisements were published with the idea of sex first and their products and brand second. Looking at the original target audience, history of print advertisements, and the written slogans on each, there is no question that their focus was tapping into the industry of their young male audience. It is safe to say Burger King thought the best way to do so was through the means of mesmerizing customers with women and sexually indicative messages.

International Marketing Management - Research Paper Example International Marketing Management The purpose of this paper is to understand the trading simplex between United States and China, the country of choice for this paper. The idea is to define the scenario as it stands i.e. the historical facts and figures with regards to the trading activities between the two countries, and then try to identify the reasons that the said patterns have been ascertained. The process followed for the creation of this research paper was simple; primarily the figures relevant to the trading activities were ascertained and subsequently secondary sources of literature review were perused in order to understand the reasons behind the said patterns. Most of the literature review is secondary and the trading figures are availed from both the people’s republic of China and the USA.From the Figure given below, with either belong to the Chinese or the US, the US runs a trade deficit with the Chinese, however, there is a marked difference between the two figures that are reported by each count ry as the Chinese report a trade surplus of $114 billion in 2005 whereas the United States state that this figure is $201 billion, about 76.32% times higher than the one reported by their Chinese counterparts.There is also a marked disparity between the span of time which has seen the US report a trade deficit against the Chinese as they claim it to be since 1983 whereas the Chinese only report the trade surplus to have originated from 1993 onwards. It is also important to note that not only is the size of the trade deficit that is being run by the U.S. against the Chinese exorbitant, but there is another facet that is equally important in the grander analysis i.e. the inordinate imbalance that lies between the imports from China and the exports to China by the US. Taking 2005 as the base year, the Japanese exported about 0.4 times the amount that they exported to the US while the Canadians and the Mexicans also reported figures of 1.3 times and 1.4 times respectively. As compared t o these, the Chinese exported a whopping 5.8 times the value of goods to the US as compared to the value of goods that they imported making it abundantly clear that the Chinese is not a destination of choice for US exported products. (Lum et al, 2007) Figure 1: U.S. Exports to China From the table 1 given below, it can be seen that from the top twenty exports from the US to the Chinese in 2005, the items rated the top five include (in no specific order) transport equipment, metalliferous ores, general industrial machinery, electrical machinery and oil seeds and fruits. The exports of the oil seeds and fruits and metalliferous ores have expanded over a period of six years, beginning from 1999, by 6 times and 12 times respectively. This clearly indicates that the Chinese requirement for the agricultural commodities as well as the raw materials has expanded in line with that of the need for office machines and general industrial machinery. Over the span of the five years starting from 2000 to 2005, textile fibers has expanded the most amongst all the items exported from the US to China, having supplanted itself by about 969%. China’s top ten imports from all around the world (in no particular order) in 2005 were: organic chemicals, optical and medical instruments, mineral fuels, vehicles, iron ores, copper articles, plastics, iron and steel, machinery, and electrical machinery. Summary of the article The journal has three phases of discussion, first phase is introduction, second phase is the about the activity of PLM and the final phase is about PLM benefits in aviation MRO industry. The influencing factors that affect the MRO industry are insufficient data sharing between the OEM and MRO. To rectify the problem in aviation MRO industry, it is required to adopt PLM system incorporated with PDM. The author suggests adopting the PLM process in MRO industry as the process implemented in design process shows remarkable result in that sector. In addition to design and service, PLM can also be implemented on various processes in the aviation industry which will clearly show a valuable increase in the reliability and safety of the aircraft. It also increases the overall profitability of the product. In addition to this, PLM provides consistent and precise feedback between the OEM, MRO and customers and also between the partners in the enterprise resulting in optimization of the inventory and further improves the efficiency of maintenance by reducing the non-value added tasks. Innocent VII is the earliest acknowledged pope during the Renaissance to have taken liberties with the church's finances. Although he engaged in the practices of simony and the selling of indulgences, his most noted mistake was raising donations for a Crusade that never took place. In 1486 Innocent announced a crusade, as well as at the same time declaring a tithe on all churches, benefices and ecclesiastical persons of all ranks. Military plans were drawn up but, in the end, no great army ever assembled or departed from Europe's shores.
